Hello,
The datasheets tell as difference
- A better Parrot Bluetooth module in the RQ0259E instead of the BC6 in the RQ0276E
and
- A better tuner module NXP TEF6686 in the RQ0259E (on autopumpkin.de and from andy by email support - on autopumpkin.com both units have the same tuner and my RQ0276 shows "NXP TEF6686" in the system settings.
So in fact, the bluetooth chip is the only difference for a charge of 80.- $ more? And the parrot is'nt able to get ODB2 over bluetooth, so that a ODB2-WiFi dongle is required?
So just to choose the best unit (universal 2DIN) for my purpose - what are really the differences?
Thanks and best regards
Michael
Difference between RQ0276E and RQ0259E
Re: Difference between RQ0276E and RQ0259E
Hi,
The RQ0276E is our new released unit with android 5.1 system.
And the RQ0259E has a more higher bluetooth module with android 4.4 system.
In fact, they have almost same functions and they all perform well.
Please notice, before you purchase the product from us, please check your original center console shape and size.
Regards

Re: Difference between RQ0276E and RQ0259E
Hi Jammy,
i'm a bit confused: On the interntional and the german website as well as on amazon, both units should run at 5.1.
Don't worry about mechanical issues: If it won't fit, i will make it fit
I have an older car with standard 2DIN support.
Best regards
Michael

Re: Difference between RQ0276E and RQ0259E
Me again
i received today a RQ0256E and can compare directly with the RQ0276E.
Both came with Android 5.1.1.
Both show the NXP TEF6686 as tuner chip, the only difference seems to be the bluetooth chip.
With both bluetooth devices i have the problem, that i can pair with my smartphone, i can transfer phonebook and i can dial numbers, but than i hear nothing - not on the radio nor on the smartphine. The called telephone rings, but i don's even hear the "beeps" when connecting.
Perhaps there is a relation to the navigation speech issue?
But at last in my RQ276E (the cheaper one), the radio seems way better. I get a clear signal at a certain station where the 259 gives me a lot of noise with just a bit signal. Same position, same Antenna. Can't say if it's a matter of general quality or just production scattering of the tuner chipset.

Re: Difference between RQ0276E and RQ0259E
Hi, that's strange problem which we rarely encounter, you can first press the RST hole and do the factory settings restore to check.
Then please go to the Bluetooth menu to set the Auto answer and auto connect "ON".
As you said, It may have a relation to the navigation speech issue, here is the link of the firmware for RQ0259. Hope some help.
