I've one DAB box having the same problem as another customer in another forum. Only one channel works.
So it seems like you have a quality problem. I can fiddle with the cable and get both channels working,
but only for a short time.
A schematic of the wiring loom would be appreciated, thanks.

Re: DAB

Re: DAB
We don't need that video. That's not the problem. Both of us has it connected
but we can only get sound from one channel. So it's obvious something is wrong
with either the wiring loom or the boxes.
I can wiggle the loom around and get sound from both channels momentarily. It's in other words not the main
board having problems.
The only way you can help us is to provide a schematic of the wiring loom, so we can
troubleshoot if it is the DAB-box or the loom failing.

Re: DAB
a video will not help solve the issue.
as the other poster says there is a issue with the wiring or connection part of the dab.
If you can provide the wiring diagrams/schematics tot his we can try and solve it ourselves. I do not believe changing the board will solve it as its a wiring/connection issue outside of the board.
thanks

Re: DAB
My DAB unit works quite well, but for various reasons I need to extend the wiring loom.
In that connection I undertook some scope measurements, this is what I have figured out so far:
Black: 0v USB power
Yellow: +5v USB power
White: Serial, commands to DAB unit
Red: Serial, replies to head unit
Blue: Line out, right - possibly left channel
Green: Line out, left - possibly right channel
Purple: 3.5v, possibly activation signal...?
Orange: 0v, perhaps analog ground ...?..
Serial transmission seems to be 9600 (unverified) baud TTL - not traditional RS-232. Approximately 4v amplitude.
Hopefully, Pumpkin staff can fill in the missing details...
A close to 10m extension has turned out to work quite well, but with audible crosstalk from serial lines as could be expected - I used an ordinary CAT6 cable. Line out should be designated a separate screened cable to fix this.

Re: DAB
So ive done an install of a killer head unit for a client, and having the same issue here, no right channel.
Puzzled initially as there is great sound from everything else just the dab has no right channel.
Either has to be the dab unit, the aerial or the interconnecting loom.
Has there been a resolution yet?
Oh first post, soz, Hi!

Re: DAB
Ok, thanks. I'll check the cable out and try deleting the app. Will also check with the owner re seller details. It was a local Australian seller from memory. Thanks!
Re: DAB
