Display brightness is very dark

Postby djprojekt » Thu Aug 04, 2016 1:35 pm

I bought the radio 7" Android 4.4 Quad Core Autoradio 1024*600 from you.
(it's a RQ0255-DE2-A)

The display brightness is very dark, still when i configure it to maximum brightness.
I know that it's getting more dark when i switch on my lights on my car (that's working)
but that is not the problem.
Some buttons in some menus are not even visible because the have nearby the same color than black.

Is this a known issue?
Or has someone a idea what i can do?

I read on another page i should use my remote control and click on OSD to set the brightness and contrast higher.
But i don't have an remote control for my device.

Greetings
Jürgen

Hi,
Could you please tell us your order number?
This information is very important for us to provide the accurate and best solution.
About dark screen problem, the brightness level is the factory default design, most of our clients feel it well, and a few of them want to get more brightness display, I can understand..
We will contact the factory and try to release the new firmware to improve the brightness.
Regards

Hello Jammy, it's not a feeling like my favourite color is red...
It's not possible for my front seat passenger e.g. to watch a movie because the brightness is much too low.
Specially when i use the rear camera during the day it's not possible to drive backwards with the cam, because the display is to dark.

I'll send you the Order Number per private Message

Hi!

I am having the same problem - even when I turn up the brightness all the way, I can't see the radio on days with no clouds. Was there a way to turn up the brightness?

Thanks.

I did some tests with the radio and compared some pictures with the radio brightness
both displays are on maximum brightness 100%

I did not connect the ILL cable

I would be happy to know the filename and path where the brightness and contrast is configured.
I can not believe (when i see the pictures) that someone is satisfied with this picture brightness

Greetings
Jürgen

Hello Jammy, two more tests to explain that it's not a hardware problem
There is one app on the market the "reHuePlayer" which overwrites the brightens configuration configured in the device

If i use this app the picture get's perfect
The problem is this player is not working so well and not usable for me (because many videos bucking and not played fluently)
So it's only a software problem which could be fixed very easy in a configuration file.

I played a documentation movie one time with a standard player and one time with the rhHuePlayer!

the display brightness is always on 100% and i did not connect the ILL cable
(the biggest problem is driving with the rear camera... i see nearly nothing)

See my pictures attached

Hi Jürgen,

I think calling the player scrap is unfair. I think it holds tremendous potential and is otherwise very good, and only needs a couple of relatively minor software tweaks to make it excellent. Having worked professionally as a software developer for 15 years, most of this just strikes me as the inevitable problems that one sees with new product introduction. You make a new product, introduce it to the market, and then make adjustments to existing firmware and new product design based on customer feedback. Your research (thanks for that, by the way) shows that this is not a hardware problem, and that the player can go much brighter than it currently does.

Hi djprojekt,
The factory provide us a new firmware, the new unit which configures the new firmware has more brightness. Hope some help.
Here is the link for your RQ0264.

As we know, the aftermarket radio do not perform as well as the smartphone, such as the screen of on our unit does not like the smartphone screen which has the special design to avoid the direct sunshine. Hope your understanding.
We are sparing no effort to improve the unit quality and make it more user-friendly in the future.

Hi Jammy, thank you very much for the new firmware (i will test it)
I know the aftermarket radio does not perform as well as a smartphone, but as we know now
it's only a configuration problem from the factory (in the software) to make the display brightness much better!
