Android V5.1 'Lollipop' Firmware Request for KD-C0248-UK-A?

I have been in email contact with Andy (andy-pumpkin) trying to sort a problem with trying to re-install the 'EasyConnected' app over the last few weeks, but without any success.

As my mobile phone has V5.1 'Lollipop', I want to try using the 'Android Auto' app to mirror it [my mobile phone] on my Pumpkin unit, and Andy has advised that V5.1. for my unit will be available sometime this month, according to your factory. I obviously need to install V5.1 on my Pumpkin unit so I can use 'Android Auto'.

Can you please advise that V5.1 is still expected to be released this month, please?

My unit is and my Order No. was 204-8406008-6694754 from Amazon UK.

Hi, sorry for the late reply.
About the android 5.1 lollipop, the factory told us that the android 5.1 firmware was not available on android 4.4 unit now, and the result we tested also show the android 4.4 unit could not find the 5.1 upgrade file.

Hi, could you please tell us your amazon order number?
The unit you got should be like the amazon ad shown, which is actually a new update model compared to the C0248.
The amazon seller may have not changed the model number, but it does not affect the unit usage, sorry for the misunderstood brought to you.
About the android 5.1 operation system, maybe it does not perform so stable or even sometimes accours a little error, but we are trying to improve and make it works better.

It has been several years now since I bought my 'C0248' Head Unit, and I was wondering if there is now a firmware upgrade available for it (5.1) that I can try installing? My current version as supplied with the unit (4.4) has so many limitations that it is proving very difficult to continue using the unit!

I have virtually no 'apps' loaded as I'm finding that memory is running low! Is there a way I can refresh the whole unit so that I have a reasonable amount of memory for downloaded apps to be installed?

I really like the unit, but have to admit I am disappointed that it has become almost unusable in such a short space of time. I would have expected this unit to have lasted for a lot longer than it has!

1. So, please, is there a firmware upgrade I can try, and can you remind me of the process required to upgrade the unit?
2. Can you supply the 4.4. firmware so I can revert back to using that if the firmware upgrade won't work?

Hi Graham,

We are still testing the upgrade.
And it is a risk to upgrade the car stereo, it may cause the car stereo can not turn on.

Are you really saying that you have been testing the upgrade for over 3 YEARS?

I find that a little hard to believe if you have been and still can't give an answer as to whether it will work or not!!!

Perhaps I should contact 'support@autopumpkin' and ask them for a copy of both the '5.1' and '4.4' image files for me to try, as was suggested in your message dated JUNE 16th 2016.
