[AA0341B] - How to get into recovery mode

Postby backe888 » Fri Jul 17, 2020 8:16 pm

Hi,

i want to upgrade to Android 10. Upgrade doesnt work (error) so i wanted to do a reset. That doesnt do anything, android still packed with my data. Something seems to be stuck.
Only way out i see is the recovery mode and wiping data. But how?

I tried reset button and some button combinations, but i cant find the right one. How do i get into recovery mode?

Thanks in advance.

You can´t UPGRADE from Android 8/9 to 10 like that. Even recovery mode would run into an error message if you try to.
All partitions are different between both versions.

If you really want to go that way, you need to have a complete image of the matching Android 10, you need to disassemble the SOC and use RK-Batchtool with a special built cable, some resistances, special small pins and some knowledge to get that done in MASK ROM mode ...
Other ways are not possible.
By the way... You won´t find the related Android 10 image for now which would work on your unit.

Hi Rigattoni,

i dont want to install it via recovery, i just want to reset my Android 9, since it doesnt want to reset via the "factory reset" in the system settings.

I want to install the image "diemei" posted in that other thread. Seems to work for him.

Still the question, how do i get into recovery mode?

There are different ways to get into recovery, dependent to the unit.
Press the power button and keep it pressed until the button lights are blinking.
Release the button shortly and press it shortly again.

The other way is to do the same with the reset micro switch on other units.

3rd way:
Unit and PC/Laptop needs to be in the same WiFi.
Setup ADB on your PC/Laptop and open CMD in the ADB folder.
Open developer settings on your unit and activate USB debugging.

Commands in ADB:
ADB connect 192.***.***.*** (use the IP address of your unit instead)
ADB reboot recovery

1. thanks Rigattoni, ADB worked.

2. @Jammy or one of his Collegues.
Im am in recovery now, but i cant do anything there. Usually selection can be dont with the volume keys, and the power button chooses it. But that doesnt work with the A00341B. I dont have volume keys, its a turn knob. The "pwr"-button doesnt do anything either. NO button does ANYTHING.

How can i change and choose options. How do you do that while setting these devices up? I need the recovery mode to reset the device!

Hello
Thanks for your message.
Does the car stereo stop on the boot logo?
If yes, pls use a tool to poke RST hole, then wait to restart.
If the car stereo can not restart by itself, please download the firmware to try.
https://mega.nz/#F!KehFUI7K!RiXdxW7UXITgWdoQ1Qh-og
Open the link--download the folder---please do not unzip---open the folder---copy the 2 files (8227L-8.bin, 8227L-8.upd) in the folder to the root directory of the U disk- --Insert the USB interface---pop up the upgrade window---upgrade the system.
Maybe you can refer this video to do it: https://youtu.be/Fjp9NlDYGVs
Best Regards,
Jammy

Hello Jammy,

the radio boots and works. But i wanted to install a new firmware, and it wont install it. Something is stuck.

It wont do a factory reset either. I click factory reset, it restarts, and everything is as it is, my files are there, my programs are there, nothing changed.
Any firmware i want to install (new or original) is rejected at the start with an error.

The only way i see is a data wipe in recovery mode. But i cannot select anything in recovery since none of the buttons does anything.

@backe888,
just use a USB keyboard to move within recovery.
I even don´t know why they are using a recovery which is not usable by touch.
