27-aqtu72-03 gps quite working

Postby btbrandontyler » Sun Nov 20, 2016 3:18 am

Hi I need help getting my gps antenna to work again. It quite working after accidentally deleting some files in ES file explr. I use Google maps for navigation but maps can't pick up my location. When I go to tool cabinet and click gps status the chart doesn't show anything. I have tried everything. I checked the gps output of 3.3 volts which it has. I updated the firmware. I hooked a brand new antenna up. I want to do a full factory reset but the 1617 password doesn't work it only works for factory settings. I don't know what else to do at this point. Please help. Thank you in advance!

I saw it in the other thread. I downloaded the file you gave me but looked and looked for a way to install it but found nothing. My problem is my gps antenna does not show anything when I go to tool cabinet and look at my gps status. Everytime I go to Google maps it can not pick up my location. I have tried a new antenna, i checked for 3.3 volts on the back of the unit, and also tried the igo but could not install it on the unit. All the files were there but i could not find a way to install igo from the memory card . Also when I try to do a complete factory reset with 1234 it just sits there. It doesn't say it is the wrong password but it just sits there on the same screen when I hit ok. Everything else works great on the unit. If there was just some way to re install the missing gps driver or firmware. I'm just not sure what is missing. Here is a picture of my gps status.

Hi,
Regarding the GPS issue, you can put the GPS antenna outside of your car to check, normally when the unit can get above three satellites, then the unit can be located.
For the igo maps, sorry for the lack instruction, you need to unzip the download maps file and copy them into the USB stick, then enter "ES File Explorer" to find the external usb stick position like the below picture, click the igo navigation software, just like install a third party app.

I tried putting the antenna in different locations. I don't know what else I can do. Any suggestions?

Hi,
For the GPS issue, you can use another GPS antenna to check, if possible, please test if the GPS antenna port in the back of the unit has 3.3V power supply.
Here is another forum about how to troubleshoot the GPS issue and try to solve it.

I've tested and I get 3.3v. I tried iGO. I bought a new GPS antenna. It still won't work. It quite working when I cleared repetitive files in ES file explorer. I updated the unit to new software. I also can't delete apps through settings menu. When I click on the app I want to delete it goes straight to the home screen. I have to delete apps through home screen by dragging to the trashcan. I also can't do factory reset. I have the right password but it just sits there when hit next. All these problems started after I did cache cleaner. Is there any other way to restore these files.

Hi,
You can not delete the pre-installed or default apps on the unit, so when you drag them, they just move from one place to another place on the screen.
I also think the problem is related to the cache data you cleaned, please go to the CarSettings--Factory settings--factory_reset_settings to click "Erase everything", you need to input the password 1234 to start this factory settings reset. Hope this can help you solve the problem.

I tried this multiple times. When I input the password to do factory reset(erase everything) it just sits there. It is the correct password but does not engage when I hit OK.
