Hi all,
I've a major problem with my RQ0261E downgrading to stockrom after an upgrade to malaysk rom
>>-update_5_1_1_FUSE_1024X600_RK3188_06_MAL_30_10_2016_MTCB-<<
I did this uograde to a custom rom because of a better memory layout.
The original 1GB for apps is too small for me.
The update was successful, except a malfunction of WIFI/WLAN.
So i decided to downgrade to stockrom.
Since then, I only get errors like these:
E:failed to mount /dev/cache /dev/block/rknand_cache (block device required)
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
This is only a snopshot of all errors - they are much more, but all with "block device required".
I think the memory layout has completely crashed.
All of the known flashing methods do NOT help yet!
-Normal way using recovery and SD card/USB stick
-Booting via bootable SD card (sdupdate.img) without USB stick
-Booting via bootable SD card (sdupdate.img) with USB stick incl. update.img
Meanwhile I'm totally confused
Any hints from anybody are highly welcome

Hi,
Could you please send us the current information on your unit?
We need these information to check and then give you the correct firmware or mcu to solve the problem.

Re: Downgrade error RQ0261E
I've a screenshot from before the dissaster's beginning.
BTW: Just for Info, the device is currently in a kind of bootloop.
The most current error during update procedure is "Download IDB fail"
Thanks -Wanninger

Re: Downgrade error RQ0261E
Thanks for the update file.
Unfortunately it does not help.
I've made some two pictures to see what happens during bootphase.
Any further ideas?

Re: Downgrade error RQ0261E
Hi,
About the update process, please refer the below forum to check if the steps have problem.
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=14
Especially, please make sure that you put the download update.img file into the root inventory of the SD card, and when you enter the recovery mode, did you choose the third option"update system/mcu image from sdcard and clear all"?
If is, you may need to flash the original mcu to check, here is the link for your unit RQ0261, hopes some help.

The mcu installing process is same as the firmware update.

Re: Downgrade error RQ0261E
Thank you again, for the add. image file.
O.k. I try to say it in other words:
All standard update procedures via SD-card or USB-memorystick or a bootable SD-card fail!
Please see attached images.
Update from within Adroid is not possible, because the system does not start up normally.
So I _must_ use the recovery mode.
I think, one of the other updates has left the system back in a undefined state.
The system needs to be repartitioned, because lots of the needed blockdevices are not usable during flashing of stockrom.
And - again - the IDB is not accessible.
So I think I need a kind of "lowlevel image/bootable-rom" to recreate all neccessary partitions, to get a stockrom flashed.
Thanks -Wanninger

Re: Downgrade error RQ0261E
Hi,
Actually I'm not sure if the stock rom or mcu can solve your problem when you contacted me at the first time.
Normally we don't allow our clients flash unkown rom/mcu from other places, cause it may bring other problems to the unit.
And the rom update can not make the unit get a better memory which is based on the internal chipset.
I can give you another rom file to check, and if this still does not help, I don't have any other possible solution.

Re: Downgrade error RQ0261E
Hi,
I wrote these issues in my very first post!
Sometimes something goes wrong through flashing procedure of custom roms.
I've done such updates hundreds of times on lots of different Android systems, not only car stereo.
And again, sometimes it goes wrong, and the device becomes - more or less - bricked.
But in every case in the past, there was a useable way to do lowlevel flash of stockrom _with_ recreation
of the memory/partition layout during lowlevel flashing procedure.
So I wonder, why it is not possible on rk3188 chipset to do it in a similar way.
I hoped there is a way available to relflash/repartition, without open the device and start the "MASK ROM MODE".
Anyway, I thank you very much for your help.
BTW: Any hints about getting the device into "MASK ROM MODE" would be very helpful...
