Bluetooth phone connection does not work

Postby freggel2401 » Tue Dec 13, 2016 11:02 pm

Hello,
today I received my RQ0264 (build rk3188-userdebug 22062016.16:41:09) which is actually a nice device, but I ran into several problems. The main issue is that the bluetooth connection to my Nexus 6P (Android 7.1.1) does not work. I paired the devices and also allowed all the access needed from the phone. Independent from automatic connection or manual connection the connection breaks after a few seconds. I can see the bluetooth symbol in the notification bar for a second and than it's gone. Seems to be allways reconnecting, but stay connected.
A second issue is that I can not use easy connect. I enabled usb-debugging which worked, but when it says that it tries to download the app for the internet service, it fails. On my phone an app opens which looks like a car app, but anyway the RQ0264 fail in this second point.

Any ideas?

Best,
freggel

Hi,
Currently this unit RQ0264 may don't support the smartphone with android 7.1 version to connect via Bluetooth, neither the easy connect.
We will feedback to the factory, and hope they can provide us a new firmware to solve this problem ASAP.

It would be nice to have at least the latest firmware. This might also solve some other issues. Can I download it somewhere? If seen in the forum some download which are definitly newer than my firmware, but it would be better to have the latest on.

Hi,
The latest firmware may don't solve the android 7.1 phone connection issue, but you can try to use it to solve other software issue.
Here is the link for your unit.

Hello,
the good news is that the phone connection seems to work now, but I can not enter the play store as it is crashing on login. At first it looks good, 2 factor authentication is working, but in the end of the process no account is created and the play store can not be used. Is there another update?

Hey Jammy,
I found those link already. Thanks anyway. The play store ist working now, but I ran into some other troubles you might help me out. The issues are all reading sound. I have speaker connected (front and rear) to the internal amp of the unit. I also have 2 amps connected by chinch (front and rear). But something seems to be wrong. I got 2 problems:
1. The rear signal seems to be somehow dead. When I put volume of the rear amp to max I can hardly here something, but it is way to quiete. I checked the faders in the app, but they are placed in the middle of the car, so should be working. I also hear nothing from the rear speakers connected to the internal amp. Also wireing of interal amp seems to be wrong (my iso connector is correct) Front and back is toggled. If I go to front in the fader app the internal speakers will get more silent. if I got to back, I hear nothing at all (as already described). If this is just a matter of wiring I can change it, but I thought this information might also help clearifying the issue.
2. The Android sound is somehow strange. If I start the radio or play music, it works. When I go to home screen by pressing home, I can still here the music. If I open maps, I have just the sound of google maps. The same is the other way round. If I navigate using maps. I have sound. If I send the app to background, I have no sound. So if I here play music and the navigation would speak something the result ist that the music get more silent, which is nice, but there is no voice of google maps. So maps is only speaking, if it is in front, but than I can not here any music. Any suggestions?

[Update] I ran also into some new trouble. The headunit is unbelievable slow since the update. Opening Maps takes up to 5 min and does not even really work well. As I found on the forum this seems to apply also to some other new firmware versions for other devices which is nice in that case that this might be a solveable software issue. Any news on that?

Hi,
For the rear speaker issue, could you please first tell us what kind of your car? Does you car have original amplifier?
The universal unit have four couple speaker wires for two front and two rear speaker, please first check the speaker wires pin position.
Then you can connect the rear couple speaker wires from our power cable to a external speaker or your car rear speaker to check.
For the android sound, the default app like radio and music can run background when the unit come back to home screen, but this is not available for some of the third party apps. And when you use Google maps and default music player at the same time, there will come out two kind sound, not like you use the offline maps.
For the head unit slow operation, it maybe caused by the installed third party apps or you open many app at the same time.
You can press the Speed icon in the top drop-down screen to check.
If you want to get a update firmware to install, please tell us the current system information of the unit.

Hy Jammy,
in the meantime I have made some progress. I solved the issues with the rear speaker be rearranging the cables in the pumpkin connector cable (chinch cables were already fine). Btw. the car is an Ford Mustang GT from 2008, but I had two aftermarked radios installed before on the ISO-connector of the car and the speaker were arranged correctly. However. Since I did this the sound is great. Also the subs are working (which were connected to rear chinch, but now I can fade to rear and therefore increase volume on the subs). Also the "speed button" in the notification solved the slow radio issue (maybe by killing apps?)
But there are two problems left:
1. The rear view camera is mirrored, but my cam already does this so now its the wrong way. How to stop this. Is there somewhere a switch for that? I can't even read the menus of the cam.
2. There is one big sound issue left. There is no way to get the sound of google maps if it is not in front. I would like to here radio and have the navigation sound, but this does not work. The radio app is producing sound as long as it is in foreground or I press the home button to bring the home screen up. If I start maps than, the sound of the radio is gone. If I open maps and start to navigate it is only producing sound as long as maps is in foreground. If I start any other app like the radio the sound of maps is gone. I can also here the other app to decrease volume when maps is producing sound output, but I can't hear anything from maps.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
Sorry for the delay reply due to the three days holiday of New Year's Day.
For the rear view camera issue, you just go to the Settings--Driving settings to set the Reversing X-mirror.
Here is a picture for your reference.

For the sound issue, that's normal for the google online maps, when you run the google map and listen radio at the same time, the navigation voice will only come out from the front speaker, and it will not decrease the radio volume.
If you don't mind, we can send you the free maps provide by the factory, just download and use it, please tell us where you come from, then we can send you the correct maps link.
