Hi! I really loved my friends car stereo but he had problem with draining battery every day.

I would like to buy one with dvd player, sat nav for my audi 2007 8p.

Question is

Is battery drainage solved? Will i have to buy another cable or have to go to garage to do it as i am not very familiar with eletrics in car.

Does pumpkim radio accept cd changer ? Is it wired together or i will need to buy another cable?

Could you mind tell me the item your friend already bought? Because it shouldn't be with the battery drain issue, unless the wiring is connected not correct. You may also check the following topic for the battery drain issue.

And Pumpkin radio do not support original car CD charger function. And they are not include installation manual, cause different car may have different installation method, but most of them are just plug some connectors. If you want to DIY, you can ask us for help during installation.

He bought one for vw golf sku:KD-C0341 and I know he had to go to garage and pay for correct cables.

I am looking at audi a3 version..
So I will loose cd changer but i can put all my music on sd card.

I have changed few car radios before but never with so much cables to connect.

Where do u put gps antenna for example?
Microphone?

The Volkswagen unit, we included 2 type wires, one is without can bus, and another is with can bus box. The one with can bus box are suitable for almost all of those VW cars and without problem of power drain. If using the wire without can bus box, then it problely drain car battery in some cars.
For the GPS atenna, you can put just under the window sheild, just put any where it can get good GPS signal.
And the mic too, put any where it can get good sound receiving.

So what is the best PUMPKIN unit to get for my 2008 Audi a3 8p with BOSE?

A friend of mine got the EONON ga6157f which is supposed to be for this car.
It came with the built in Quadlock connector so no extra harness needed but he had the battery drain problem that he could not solve.
I like the unit, but I do not want to go through the same problem.

Hi,
No matter the android or wince special unit for Audi can both support the Bose system, please don't worry about this.
You need to use the Quadlock connector with Canbus decoder and connect the RCA cable of it.
And few of our clients said that they had the battery drain problem, unless you use the wrong power cable or the canbus decoder is broken after using for a long time.

i´m running just that radio Jammy is linking to in a Audi A3 8p Quattro 2.0 TFSI.
Excellent device if you have config it and knows how to use it.
It is no secret that some apps not are running from the start but the support is making an excellent job here in the forum. Some times it takes a little bit long time for the answer but generally it´s ok.
I can just recommend this radio.
I am satisfied with it NOW

Does it matter if I have an old apple factory connection or do I have to remove that before I can install the new unit?

Hi,
The difference between the unit I recommended and that one you found lies the plastic button design, the android system and CPU.
Actually most of them are the same, cause your car is a left hand drive, you can take the one you found into first consideration.
For the old apple factory connection, you can leave it alone and don't use it.
