Tomtom go is not running on Pumpkin AQVW71 Android 6.0

Hello,

I have the pumpkin AQVW71 with Android 6.0. The device is used with the original software.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to install the Tomtom go app.
This has the following reasons:

1. The device is recognized in the play store as a tablet. Therefore, the app can not be loaded from the play store.
2. The app can be installed as a .apk file. However, the app can not connect to the tomtom servers. From forums I have read, that happens because the device has no 12-digit serial number.

Has anyone of you a solution? Is there a possibility to get root rights for the device? Is there a way to make the app run completely?

Hi, I managed to get the tom tom go app working using software called racoon on my PC.

Download racoon, enter your play store username and password and search for and download the tom tom go app - then copy the apk files onto a USB. Plug the USB into the head unit and go to the ES file Explorer, locate usb and click the apk file. This will start the download.

Once set up I get all the traffic services etc that the app supports, once of course you take out one of Tom Tom subscription services, and the headunit is connected to either WiFi or data.
