13-RQ0278E-US-A and 4-ch external amplifier

Hi,

I'm planning to purchase the headunit with SKU: SKU: 13-RQ0278E-US-A for my car, but what confused me is its specs, where it only mentions RCA's for FL and FR out only. My current setup is a Kenwood 2-din which is connected to a 4-ch external aplifier through RCA to drive my speakers. However, since this Pumpkin headunit says it supports only FL and FR out, how am I supposed to connect the rest 2 channels?

I emailed the company's support, which unfortunately confused me even further. They told me that "Our car radio can support 4 pair of speakers, please do not worry about this, Our radio does not support original AMP system, it only support external AMP system." What do they mean by original amp, and what by external amp? When I insisted that the specs of the headunit mention only 2 channels of RCA, they sent me the following image which is even more confusing. As you can see, they marked as two channels No. 2 and No. 4, which are indeed mentioned as FR OUT and FL OUT respectively, but they also mentioned the other two channels to be No. 5 & No. 7, which are marked as L IN and R IN respectively.

I honestly don't know what to do. I'm just one step before purchasing the headunit, but I'm afraid I'll find out it won't fit my needs in using my 4-ch amplifier, as I won't be using the internal pre-amp of the headunit.

Has anyone else purchased this particular headunit? Do you have any experience to share about its RCA outputs?

Hi,
This unit RQ0278E just has one couple RCA audio output cable which seems don't support your 4-ch external amplifier.
But you can use the 2 channels of RCA to 4 channels of RCA adapter to make our unit work with the 4-ch external amplifier.
There may have some misunderstood between you and the customer service staff, she just know that the universal unit can only support the sound from the four speaker of car and don't know the truth that the head unit can use an external amplifier through RCA to drive my car. sorry about this.
If you are confused with my words, I suggest you consider our another kind android 5.1 head unit with different UI which has 4 channels of RCA to directly support your 4-ch external amplifier. And there are more kind of the android 5.1 head unit for your choose.

You can just use a RCA adapter to make the 4-ch external amplifier work.
