RQ0264 - LTE Dongle Huawei and Problem with OBD

Postby v-ice » Wed Jan 25, 2017 12:27 pm

I have a Huawei E3276 LTE dongle I want to use.
Any support on getting it to work ?

My OBD connection has been f*cked up sins my latest reset of the unit.
Works like a charm to my phone.
Problem : It is connected in BT setting. Green.
The blue OBD notification is lit .
When starting torque and I want to choose the device in setting it is showing nothing.
It is selected to bee on BT i Torque

Also, I am wishing for an 6.0 update for the unit. I'll bet there is a real win situation if you can deliver an update.

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply due to the Chinese New Year's Day.
For the LTE dongle, as you can see from our website listing, this unit can only support the 3G WCDMA network, you need to use a 3G WCDMA sim card.
For the OBD connection, you can first refer the below tutorial video to check. Hope some help.

Currently there is not an android 6.0 update for this unit.

Update
Huawei E3276 Works like a charm now.
But Now I have problems with Wifi Hotspot.
It will be shared, but not with WPA2. only with 'no security'
It said in documents that it have had WPA2.

OBD2 is working some times, but have been running pretty good the last days.

Android 6 : No I know that there is no release of it today, but are you working on one ?
I'll bet that all of us using this unit will be more than happy to have a new version relesed.
Or why not skip 6 and release a 7 for us?

Hi,
For the wifi Hotspot, it can only support this kind network share.
Cause the unit just use the 3G network, and it will be interfered by other factors.
If you want to use your phone to connect the hotspot from the unit and go to internet, it may don't work as good as you expect. Sorry about this.
For the OBD2 issue, you can remove it and plug it again, then connect it to the unit and check if it works well.
For the android 6.0 or even android 7.0, I can understand you. Both our technician and the factory developer are trying to release it.
But once there is a new system, it may have some small bug or fault, it will take some time to make it work more stale and without problem.

I would like to have WPA2 for WifiHotspot.
Specially when in cities where I do not want it to be hijacked

ALso any ETA for newer releases?
I Can assist with testing any prereleases you have.

Hi,
Sorry about this.
The wifi hot spot has the limited connection range, you don't need to worry to be hijacked.
The factory developer said that the firmware does not change the wifi hot spot sharing settings.
