Pumpkin 11-C1220-UK

Postby cho5en » Fri Mar 11, 2016 1:15 pm

I bought this from Amazon UK ( Order # 205-6351579-4661104), Its fitted and working to a 2005 A4 Convertable, but my rear speakers are really quiet compared to the front speakers ? I am currently using the fade option to equalize the sound, but have to have the volume above 23 to full to get enough sound.
Is there a wire I need to change around for the rear speakers?
Thanks
Joe

Hi there
Thank you for your message!
Could you mind take a photo of the original car radio plug photos to send to us to check? I do really think that your car's rear speakers must be drive by your origianl car's factory built in amplkifier, and there is no louder speakers wire for the two rear speakers. And do you still keep your original car radio? Can you please check it's body to find if there is any wiring diagram label pasted on it? Please take a photo of that and send it to us. You can use the Attachments function of the forum to add your photo.
Regards!

Hi there
Thank you for your reply!
Just as you can see, there is only 4 speakers wire (LF+/- and RF+/-) for front loudspeakers, no rear type, and the rear one is driving by a special amplifier in your car.

So you must use the RCA wires from the radio harness to input the audio. And only the REAR OUT R and REAR OUT L is function.

As I can see you have connected it, but could you mind check if you can connect FRONT OUT R and FRONT OUT L to them to check? Maybe this method can solve the volume low issue on rear speakers.

Yes I have tried all of that, but I have just been told from a audio expert, that I need to place HI-LO converters onto the RCA loom for the factory amped rear speakers/Front door volume issue ?
Both rear panel speakers and front door speakers run from the non Bose half amped system, leaving the headunit to run the front speakers (Dash speakers) from the headunits own amp, and using the supplied loom with RCA connectors is feeding the rear with incorrect oHm's ?
Maybe you could mention this when selling your Audi products online, to help other people with the same issues ? Any aftermarket Audi headunit, is not as simple as swapping over the existing loom to your loom? unless you're happy with fading the rear speakers/front door - to dash speakers and running the volume at 75%.
Really happy with the unit, but these kind of problems could put a lot of other users off.
There seems to be a lot of other Audi people having the same problem with any aftermarket headunits, but thanks for your help.
