iGo - How to keep map onscreen when driving, please?

Postby Viffergb » Tue Mar 15, 2016 4:01 pm

Hi

I really like the 'iGo' software and would like to continue using it as my main satellite navigation app, **BUT** at the moment, soon after the first instruction has been completed, e.g. a turn left or right etc, the map display is replaced by a virtually black screen with the current speed displayed in the middle, a small graphic of the next turn in the top left corner and things like start time, current time, and the distance to go at the bottom of the screen. If I tap anywhere on the screen, the map display returns, but only for a few seconds, before going back to the previous screen! Is this what is known as the 'screensaver'? If so, there is a software bug, as I have that disabled in the 'iGo' software.

If it is not the 'screensaver', how can I keep the map display on permanently whilst driving, please?

If I don't have a route configured, the map display will remain on the screen all the time!

Is there a detailed 'Instruction Manual' for the 'iGo' software available as a 'pdf' download, please?

If not, can you please supply a detailed description of what the following options are that can be found under 'UI Labs' menu as follows:-

Skip Navigation Menu
Equaliser
Desaturated Preview Map
Cockpit Type
Linear Compass
Road Blocking
Backlight Details
Save NMEA
Advanced Speed Limit
Auto Close Highway Panel
Show Grand Compass on Map

Many thanks, and look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Graham

Hi there
Could you mind tell me your order number so that I can check what item you have from us? And would you mind take a photo to upload to here to show us what kind of menu is that? If you can record a short video to display that issue, that would be more appreciated! You can upload to youtube.com and give us the link here.
Regards!

Hi Andy

Apologies for not replying sooner.
I have found an answer to my problem. The screen I am getting is the 'screensaver' screen and there is a 'Power' button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. When the screen first appears soon after making your first turn, you just need to press this 'Power' button, and the screensaver is then disabled for the rest of the journey OR until you turn the ignition off.

This a 'work-around' that I am happy to use, so no need to trouble you any further on this matter. It just seems that the option to disable the 'screensaver' in the 'Settings' menu doesn't work, so I guess it must be a 'bug' in the software.

As far as those other settings are concerned in that 'UI Labs' menu, don't worry, as it is not important, and I can experiment by enabling and disabling each one to see what it does.

For your records, my Order No. was 204-8406008-6694754.

Thank you.
Regards,
Graham

Hi there
I'm glad that you solved it!
If you are satisfy with the unit and my service, would you mind help to leave us 5 stars rated positive feedback for the item on our Amazon store? If you can spare some of your item to write a positive review on that would be really appreciated!
Sincerely thank you!

This solved to me!
You need to disable HUD option
