slow gps fix for RQ0278E

Postby philippe565 » Wed Mar 08, 2017 9:36 am

Hi i bought a RQ0278E 5.1 android head unit on 27 december on http://www.autopumpkin.de, order n°500001644.

Since i have this great headunit, i use to receive a gps fix after 3 to 5 minutes .
Is it a normal timing ? it seems to be too long.
My gps antenna is on the top of the windshield, and when the fix is made, the reception is very good.

I've made the last update firmware , and mcu is 2.04-1, but no changes.

What can i do to accelerate the gps fix?

I have to say that when i come back to home, i park my car on a underground parking. And when i leave the underground parking lot , after a few hours, or days, fix is still 3-5 minutes.

Thanks

Hi,
Sorry for the trouble caused.
For the gps fix time, when you park or drive your car on open ground place, it just takes about 1 minute, not 3 to 5 minutes.
Please tell us if you used the adapter and directly connect to our unit.
Hope you can provide a video about the problem, then I can send it to the factory technician to check.
Regards

Hi Jammy , sorry i didn't make any video , but i think i found solution .

After firmware update, i updated also googleplay services , and google app , with the playstore which suggested me to update these two files.

After i uninstalled the update of this 2 apps, everythink is correct, fix is made within a few seconds.

so the new updates of google app (for ok google service) and last googleplay service , are not good for this unit . What do you think about that?

Hi,
Glad to hear you found the solution.
Sorry that I could not provide you the solution in time.
I ever thought it maybe the system software problem, and neglect the google app and service.
We will avoid this problem happening in the new release head unit.

I have a different unit but with the same user interface. Also Factory reset Code 3368 is the same. I also experience the GPS issues as described in the post. How can the issue be solved and How can I uninstall the updates? My Model Number is A-Media Auto. Below are some pictures from my device.

I am also having this issu with very slow GPS fix on my RQ0278E even when my car is parked in the open, the GPS fix time is really slow... I have tried uninstalling googleplay services and google app as mentioned earlier in this thread, but the fix time is still the same.
