[GPS] How to check and solve the navigation software issue

As we known, the GPS function is one of the main function on the aftermarket head unit, so we try to provide more useful information to instruct our clients to use this function and troubleshoot the GPS problem.
Please notice, our unit does not support the TMC function, cause it need the built in TMC module, you could not use the TMC.

The GPS navigation software, the GPS antenna, the GPS module are the three major factors which make the GPS function work as it's supposed to be.

1.For the GPS navigation softawre
1.1 Our wince units are equipped with the Kudos maps, and the navi path have been set when the unit was tested by our quality inspector, so when you get units from us and install it into your car, you can use the GPS function just with pressing the Navi button and enter the GPS software.
If you don't like the Kudos maps or want to use other maps, we can provide you another kind free maps provided by factory.
Please notice, the wince unit does not support to download and install the third party navigation software.
For the free maps provided by factory, you can write email to "support@autopumpkin.com" or directly contact our customer service staff to get it.
You can download the map files, then insert the GPS card into the GPS slot and set the navi path.

1.2 For android unit
Currently our android units don't include the GPS card with maps, but you can use other maps, such as the factory default navigation Google maps, third party navigation apps Sygic, waze and here maps.
These above apps have been tested and checked by both us and our clients without problem, only one point need to be considerated, it's the apps compatible verson with our unit.

2. Some of our clients said that the GPS did not work any more when install at the first time or after using for a period of time.
2.1 At first,please check if the GPS antenna connect well with the GPS port. Don't test the GPS signal under you car garage or the weak signal reception place. You'd better put the GPS antenna to the corner of the front windshield or the car roof of.
Normally when the unit catch beyond three satellites, then it can run the navigation software without problem.
Please refer the attached picture to check the GPS signal reception status.

2.2 Then you need to check if the GPS files is broken.
For wince unit, you can pull out the GPS card and press the RST hole to reset the unit, then insert the GPS card into the GPS slot and set the navi path again.
If this does not help, please contact our customer service to get a new GPS card or a new map files to use.
And there is a situation which you should pay attention.
Cause the wince units have the limited internal storage and the running navigation software occupy a large part of the internal storage, sometime when you run the navigation and other function (radio or music) at the same time, the unti may get stuck or even reboot.
If you get the problem, please don't worry, we can send the original firmwra to flash the unit, it may do some help.
There is not a best but a little receptible way, please don't uses other function when running navigtion.

For android unit with using the free maps provided by factory, you can delete the navigation app and reinstall it.

There is a little imperfection point for the third party apps which does not support to use the GPS listen function. That means, when you use the GPS navigation and listen music at the same time, the music volume will not be turned down automatically once the GPS voice come out, so you may don't hear the voice direction clearly.

2.3 At last, you need to test if the GPS antenna port get 3.3V power supply from the unit. Here is an attached picture for your reference.

If is, it's possible that the GPS antenna is broken, you can get a one to solve the GPS problem. Here is a link of the GPS antenna from amazon.

Or we can send you a new GPS antenna from China, it takes 12-25 business days to arrive.

If not, it maybe the GPS module or the internal GPS cable broken.
You can try to open the unit to check the internal GPS cable,please don't worry about the warranty.
