Hi There
I have recently bought a pumpkin android stereo. The link for the model is below;
http://www.autopumpkin.co.uk/pumpkin-7- ... -link.html
I haven't been able to get the backlighting to work with the rest of the interior lights. It works for a few seconds when I select the colour on the stereo unit but then goes straight off again.
I have had a look at other threads on here that mention about plugging in certain cables on the caballing harness's but haven't been able to match the cables with the cables on the harness on my stereo.
I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me how I go about solving this issue??
Many Thanks
Nick

What kind of car is it? Perhaps you connected the Dimmer to a wire that has a timed relay in it.
The dimmer probably loops out of the radio you may want to try another wire, you probably have the input side.
Some foreign cars like SAAB have this. Also make sure you have the car running when checking the dimmer,it maybe just trying to shut off and conserve power.

Re: Cannot Get Button Backlighting To Work
Hi Both
Thanks for getting back to me regarding this topic. It's much appreciated!!
My car is a MKV Golf GTI
I have tried going into the factory setting and selecting the key light button this does turn the key back lighting on, however it also stays on when the cars ignition is off and the car is locked. So I deselected this as I didn't want my cars battery to go flat.
The stereo also doesn't turn off by itself when I take the key out of the ignition, I have to do this manually so could both of these issues be linked at all??
Many Thanks
Nick

Hi,
For the key light problem,If you un-click the key light option in the factory setting page and the orange wire of the ISO cable is connected corretly to the car light, the key light will turn on or off according to the on or off of the car light.Sorry,i think i don't understand well with the sentence"get the backlighting to work with the rest of the interior lights".Could you explain clearly?
For the power down problem,Do you use the ISO cable with canbus ? The red wire of the ISO calbe is the ACC wire, it should be connected to a switched 12V live positive wire from the car. It controls the radio for turning on and off. If not,you need to disconnect the red wire of the ISO cable and connect it from the unit to the switched ACC pole.If yes,you need to cut the yellow wire i point in the following picture and connect it from the canbus to the switched ACC pole.
Regards

Re: Cannot Get Button Backlighting To Work
Hi Jammy
Thanks for getting back to me again!
When I said about the interior lights. I meant when the back lighting for the rest of the buttons and dials on the centre console turns on the backlighting of the stereo doesn't.
I know realise the problem though. I don't actually have this wiring loom at all that you have shown in the picture. The loom I have doesn't have a can bus decode box on it. Do you know how I can get my hands on one of these at all ??
Many Thanks
Nick

Hi,
If your car work normal, you needn't to get a canbus.
For the backlight of the button problem,i understand. The backlight of the button is controled by the system setting and the wire connected to the car light. So,you can do follow:
first, disconnect the red wire of the ISO cable and connect it from the unit to the switched ACC pole.
Then, check whether the orange wire of the ISO cable is connected corretly to the positive pole of the car light.
Lastly, un-click the key light option in the factory setting page.

Re: Cannot Get Button Backlighting To Work
Hi
Would doing this help solve the problem of the stereo not powering down when the ignition is off also or would this only fix the backlighting problem?
Many Thanks

Hi,
the first step aims to solve the problem that the stereo don't powering down normaly.
The next two step aims to solve the problem that the backlight can't control by the car light
